- How do I care for my new jewelry
-
Every piece of jewelry in my shop is handmade by me with a lot of love and care. Each individual piece finished in a way that best suits each design and is stamped with a .925 sterling silver marking. This heirloom quality jewelry is made to last a lifetime, however proper care should be taken to prevent your jewelry from tarnish or damage.
To keep your jewelry at its best there are a few guidelines you should follow. Store all sterling silver jewelry when not being worn in a sealed plastic bag, this helps prevent oxidization or tarnish.
Sterling silver by nature will tarnish when exposed to oxygen for long periods of time without being worn.
You want to avoid wearing your jewelry when doing activities such as swimming, bathing, painting or other tasks that could damage the stone or silver.
If you are an artist, do not wear your jewelry, especially jewelry with stones while painting as it could damage the stone.
When cleaning your jewelry, do not submerge it in a liquid jewelry cleaner. The chemicals in these cleaners can damage your stones (remove a finish and shine on the stone or change the color of the stone) and it can compromise the strength and integrity of the silver. It is best to clean your jewelry with a mild soap and water, drying it off with a soft cloth and then polish with a soft jewelry polishing cloth. In some cases, just using a polishing cloth is enough to keep your
jewelry looking good as new. Some jewelry available in the shop is made with 14K gold filled metal. This may also be stored and cleaned just as sterling silver.
- What is Permanent Jewelry?
-
Permanent Jewelry is jewelry that is welded together using a special machine. This replaces the need for a clasp (clasp-less jewelry).
- Does it hurt to have done?
-
Nope! The spark that is generated during this process is NOT of high temperature.
- What if I need to remove it or it happens to break?
-
The chains applied during this process are thin enough to last but not thick enough to cause harm to the wearer if it becomes caught on an object. Accidents happen. We are after all humans. If the jewelry needs to be removed for any reason, it can be removed with jewelry snips (nail clippers could be used) and re-welded if desired.
- What is the permanent jewelry refund or return policy?
-
There are no refunds or returns on any permanent jewelry items. Once the chain is cut, all sales are final. As a small business owner, I do offer to reattach it if broken and will do my best to work with each client on a one-to-one basis.
- Do you take custom orders?
-
Custom orders are available but limited. To request more information on a custom order, please fill out the form on the custom order tab. A consultation will follow. Once the design has been finalized, a deposit of 50% is due. The remainder due upon completion. Order completion time may vary.
- What does made-to-order mean?
-
Made to order jewelry is offered on select pieces of jewelry in the currently lineup that may be out of stock. This gives you the opportunity to request a current design in a specific sizes or large quantities as needed. Production time typically takes between 2-3 weeks, but can take longer depending on the time of year.
- What is gold-filled?
-
Gold filled is 14k gold that is bonded to a base metal resulting in a layer of genuine gold that is over 100x thicker than plated gold. It will not wear off with regular wear, as happens quickly with plated items. Durable and tarnish resistant, these pieces are suitable for daily wear. Gold filled pieces are beautiful, affordable alternatives to solid gold, and can be worn by people with sensitive skin.
- Do you do repairs?
-
Typically, I do not do repairs on pieces that I did not create. Depending on the amount of damage a piece has sustained, not all pieces are repairable.
- Do you resize rings?
-
Please contact me if you have sizing issue with a ring, Some rings can be resized, and some cannot. Sizing down is not an option.
- What do I do if I don't know my ring size?
-
Ordering rings can be a little tricky regarding size. If you are unsure of your ring size, stop by any local jewelry store and get your finger sized. Be sure to get sized for a wide band and skinny band as they size slightly different.
