Class Details

Please join me for this four-week beginning silversmith class. It's ideal for someone that is interested in learning the art of silversmithing. In this class you will be taken step by step through the creation process of two different projects. 

 WEDNESDAY evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm

May 28th - June 18th

Project Details:

•  Round hammer formed textured sterling silver earrings

•  Bezel set cabochon stone ring with twisted rope detail

In this class you will learn the basic skill set needed to start your silversmithing journey. You'll learn to use the jeweler's saw, solder, form metal using different techniques and set stones too!

All materials for the class will be provided. A selection of stones will be available for you to choose from for your ring. All you have to do is come and have some fun! Feel free to bring a notebook and take notes if you're a note taker. 

Classes will take place at Hot Shops Art Center in Studio 220.

Preregistration is required.

Maximum class size is 8 students.

All workshops and classes are non-refundable.

Minimum age requirement is 16.

What to Expect

In this class you will learn the basic skills of silversmithing. You will learn how to use a jeweler's saw and the basic sawing techniques. In addition, you will learn to shape, solder and file silver while creating these two projects. 

Directions 

Hot Shops Art Center is located at 1301 Nicholas Street, Omaha, NE 68102.

Classes will take place on the 2nd floor in studio 220. Enter through the large red door  located on 13th Street with the sculpture on top, then take your immediate right and head up the stairs to the 2nd floor. The studio is in the far back left corner.
