Class Details

This is the perfect beginning workshop for someone that is interested in learning how to silversmith or just wants to try something new for fun. Join me in the studio for this one day stacking rings workshop.

Sunday, June 11th  •  1:00pm - 4:30pm.

Bring your Mom, your best friend or try something new on your own. Come join the fun and make three sterling silver rings! Stack ‘em all on one finger for yourself or make them to share. The choice is yours!

In this workshop you will learn the fundamental basic skills involved in silversmithing. You'll learn how to shape metal, file and solder. There will also be a brief introduction to sawing. No experience necessary. I will be there to help guide you step by step through the process. 

Classes take place at Hot Shops Art Center in Downtown Omaha in studio 220. 

All materials are provided. 

Class size is a max of 8 students.

What to Expect

In this one day workshop you will learn how to cut, shape and solder different styles of sterling silver band wire. In this class you will create three different rings. Prior to class, think and decide which fingers or finger you would like to wear your new rings. 

Safety: please do not wear any scarves, loose fitting shirts or sleeves as these are fire hazard. In addition, if you have long hair, you will be required to have it pulled up. Please bring a ponytail holder with you.

Directions to the Studio 

Class will take place at Tranquil Sky Jewelry's studio (Ste. 220) inside Hot Shops Art Center located at 1301 Nicholas Street, Omaha, NE 68102.

There is currently construction happening around the building. The best place to park would be in the Millwork Commons parking lot located just north of Hot Shops by the Mastercraft. Once parked, enter through the big red door located on 13th street with the sculpture above it. You will then take an immediate right and head up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Once on the 2nd floor head through the wood door (it says more art this way) and head to the far back left corner to studio 220.
